Christmas card winner

The winner of our annual Christmas card competition for Borders school children has been announced.

This year's winner was Jolyon, a primary six pupil from Ednam Primary School.

He was presented with his prize, Super Mario Lego, from the local MP and MSP on Friday morning.

The runners up were Philip from Broomlands Primary School; Lily from Duns Primary School; and Kainat from Philiphaugh Community School.

Congratulations to the winner, the runners up and everyone who took part.

This year's competition was especially difficult to decide because so many of the contributions were brilliant.

I am sure Borders residents will have a merrier Christmas thanks to the outstanding efforts of local school children and their first class designs."
