Local MSP Rachael Hamilton visited Healthy Hawick, a new initiative between schools in Hawick, Scottish Borders Council (SBC), NHS Borders, Live Borders and other local organisations and charities. It aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people who live in the area.
Mrs Hamilton visited the pop-up shop in Hawick to learn more about the project and how it engaged with schools and the wider community to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Rachael Hamilton MSP said: "This is a fantastic initiative and one that I fully support. Indeed, I want to see more initiatives like this across the Scottish Borders to encourage people to live a healthier and in cases happier lives.
"I really enjoyed meeting the team in Hawick to learn about how they engaged with schools and the wider community.
"I hope that Hawick gets behind this project and we see it taken up elsewhere so we see an Active Ancrum, Sporty Selkirk, and Yogi Yarrow."
