Local MSP Rachael Hamilton has urged Tour de France bosses to include the Borders in the race route when the cycling event comes to the UK.
In 2027, the Tour de France will begin in Scotland for the first time.
The start of the race is due to take place in Edinburgh, with further details of the routes expected to be published in the autumn.
The local MSP has written to the Tour de France's general director to ask that the Borders is considered to host part of the race.
Scottish Borders MSP, Rachael Hamilton, said: "Hosting part of the Tour de France would be a brilliant way to showcase the beautiful Borders countryside to the world.
"It would be inspiring for local youngsters to see the world's most famous cycling race on their doorstep and could provide a boost to small businesses.
"I've written to the race organisers to urge them to consider hosting part of the race in the Borders.
"The local area has already demonstrated it is a perfect location for high-level cycling. We hosted races in the 2023 World Championships and the 2024 Tour of Britain.
"I hope the race organisers will consider bringing this prestigious event to the Borders."
