Local MSP Rachael Hamilton recently attended a memorial service as part of the National Fishing Remembrance Day.

The event on Sunday in St Abbs near Eyemouth saw locals join in remembrance with representatives of Fishermen's Mission, the Seafarers' Charity, Stella Marris, Seafish, and the Maritime and Coastal Agency.

Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said:

"Our coastal communities have proud fishing traditions that continue to this day.  It was moving and a privilege to join the memorial service in St Abbs to recognise the dangers faced by those who work at sea and stand alongside local families and organisations in remembrance.”
