Local MSP Rachael Hamilton and Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay met with the Campaign for Borders Rail on Tuesday to discuss ongoing railway projects.
Mrs Hamilton, who is also Scottish Conservative deputy leader, said the "positive and very useful" meeting will help her continue to push the UK and Scottish governments for progress on the Borders Railway extension.
The Borders MSP and Mr Findlay met with David Hope-Jones, South of Scotland Destination Alliance, and Peter Heubeck of the Campaign for Borders Rail.
Scottish Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said: "My party has campaigned for the Borders Railway extension for many years and our efforts have resulted in progress.
"However, campaigners and the public now want to see the project move at a much faster pace.
"Now that the feasibility study is under way, it must be completed quickly.
"This meeting was a positive and very useful discussion about how we advance the case for the railway extension, which could bring more jobs to the Borders and help small businesses to grow.
"I will continue to work constructively with the UK and Scottish governments to make this project a reality.
“The Scottish Borders needs transformative investment urgently and completing the rail extension would be a game-changer."
