Rachael Hamilton MSP has been re-selected as the Scottish Conservative candidate for the Borders in the 2026 Holyrood election.
On Friday, party members chose the local MSP to stand for the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party in the Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency.
Ms Hamilton was first elected as the MSP for the constituency in 2017 and re-elected in 2021 with over 50 per cent of the vote.
She is currently the deputy leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
Scottish Borders MSP Rachael Hamilton said: "It's an enormous privilege to serve the people of the Borders and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to keep representing our local area.
"Thank you to everyone who has backed me over the years and I promise to keep working hard to stand up for the Borders.
"I'll keep doing all that I can to make this the best place to live, work, start a business, and raise a family.
"I'm determined to deliver the positive changes for the Borders that we all want to see - shorter NHS waiting lists, better roads and rail services, and higher school standards.
"At Holyrood, I'll continue to campaign to protect women's rights and improve access to healthcare for women suffering from endometriosis.
"As your MSP, I'll keep pushing for the SNP and Labour governments to show common sense by ditching proposals for mega-pylons, scrapping the Family Farm Tax, and bringing down bills for workers and businesses."
