Rachael Hamilton yesterday launched her re-election campaign with an event in St Boswells.

The Scottish Conservative candidate in the upcoming Scottish Parliament election said if re-elected, she would prioritise local concerns including lower taxes, shorter NHS waiting times, better roads and more support for rural services.

Scottish Conservative candidate Rachael Hamilton said:

"I'm standing for re-election because I want to do what's best for the Borders, the place that I call home.

"Everyone who backs me in this election will get a local champion who understands what really matters to local people.

"I will focus on delivering lower taxes, shorter NHS waiting times, better roads, and more support for struggling rural services.

"If the SNP win here and gain a majority across Scotland, we all know what they will do. John Swinney has made it clear that he will obsess about independence above everything else.

"I'm asking for your vote in this election to stop the SNP from sidelining all the things that really matter, such as bringing down your bills, delivering more GP appointments and investing in schools.

"It's always so close in the Borders between the Scottish Conservatives and the SNP candidate. Your vote here could make all the difference.

"On May the 7th, vote for me to stand up for the Borders and beat the SNP."
