A Which? report for the Ettrick Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency has revealed trust issues in broadband/ home phone services and mobile phone services.
The constituency snapshot revealed that the percentage of constituents who trusted broadband/ home phone services and mobile phone services in Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency was below the UK average.
Those who trusted broadband/ home phone services in Ettrick Roxburgh and Berwickshire was recorded at 36% whilst the UK average was 41%. Trust in mobile phone services in Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency was recorded as 33% compared to 35% for the UK.
Commenting on the Which? report, Rachael Hamilton MSP for Ettrick Roxburgh and Berwickshire constituency said: ‘This Which? report highlights that poor broadband/ home phone services and mobile phone services is having an impact on local residents.
‘The Scottish Government is not paying attention to the needs of rural areas such as the Scottish Borders’
‘It is simply not good enough that the Borders is neglected and seemingly the last to receive broadband or mobile phone service improvements.
‘The Scottish Borders is crying out for faster broadband and better mobile phone services. It is time the SNP Government delivers.
