Rachael Hamilton MSP celebrated Silver Sunday in Duns last weekend with various community groups.
Silver Sunday is an annual day of fun and free activities for older people across the UK.
Led by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, it celebrates the value and knowledge they contribute to our communities while combating loneliness and isolation.
Over 150 people turned out for the event in Duns, including Cllrs Mark Rowley and John Greenwell, which included a full day of entertainment, engagement and lunch.
Rachael Hamilton MSP said:
“Silver Sunday was a fantastic day and my thanks go to the hardworking volunteers who made it a tremendous success.
“Thanks must go to the various community groups, to Duns Scouts, Duns Rotary, Men’s Sheds, Duns History Society and many more.
“Loneliness and isolation are two key issues affecting older people across the Borders, and I would encourage people to look out for elderly neighbours and call in to have a chat”.
