Rachael Hamilton MSP has gone the extra mile for Poppyscotland.
This year Poppy Scotland has encouraged people to go the extra mile.
Poppyscotland provides life-changing support to our Armed Forces community. It reaches out to those who have served, those still serving, and their families at times of crisis and need by offering vital, practical advice, assistance and funding.
It believes that those who serve or have served, whether regular or reserve, are deserving of support to live life fully without disadvantage after service.
Poppyscotland is best known for running the iconic Scottish Poppy Appeal, but works all year round to help those who have served, those still serving and their families receive the care and support they need.
The Scottish Poppy Appeal raises over £2 million each year. This, combined with other year-round fundraising, enables provision of tailored support and funding to thousands of ex-Servicemen and women as well as other vital services in advice, employment, mobility, respite, housing and mental health support.
The Scottish Borders has a proud tradition of supporting military regiments and causes including King’s Own Scottish Borderers Regiment and Combat Stress amongst others.
Rachael Hamilton MSP said: "Poppyscotland do fantastic work all year around and it is right that everyone supports this fantastic cause and goes the extra mile.
"I encourage everyone to go the extra mile by wearing a poppy and spreading the fantastic work Poppyscotland do.
"The Scottish Borders has a rich tradition of supporting current and former servicemen and women with poppy displays in our local towns and villages."
