The latest ScotRail performance statistics reveal that once again around 88% (PPM) of trains arrived on time at Tweedbank between 4th February and 3rd March.
The target however for this period was 91.7% (PPM) meaning Borders Rail missed the performance target.
The third performance update of the year shows remarkable consistency when compared to the start of the year 10th December – 6th January (88.8%) and 7th January - 3rd February (88.6%) – all missing the Moving Annual Average of 91.7% (PPM).
Rachael Hamilton MSP said: "The Borders Rail has become a cherished and valued part of Borders life. We all love it.
"However, it seems to be stuck at around 88% on a performance front. And this is both good and bad. Good in the sense that it is not getting worse - 88% is a strong performance - and bad because it seems that the performance of Borders Rail is not improving.
"The fact remains that Borders Rail is missing targets. I want the Borders Rail to be the best in Scotland and there is no reason why it shouldn’t be. I will keep a close eye and explore means to improve the performance of the service."
