Businesses working together to improve Selkirk

Selkirk is looking forward to bringing in more business and tourists to the town as a result of their Business Improvement District (BID) status. The town is the first in the Scottish Borders to make use of the scheme.

Local MSP raises a cup to Macmillan Cancer Support

Rachael Hamilton MSP has put her support behind this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which will be held on Friday 28th September. Last year thousands of people across the UK took part in a Coffee Morning event, raising around £27m for Macmillan.

Number of hospital delayed discharge days on the rise

ISD Scotland figures published today show that the annual number of bed days as a result of delayed discharges from hospital is on the rise across NHS Borders.

The number of bed days has increased from 10,163 in 2016/17 to 13,853 in 2017/18, an increase of 36 per cent.
